WANTON IRISH LASSES
Forget dancing at the crossroads – what Irish women want is more sex. According to a survey done by Women’s Way magazine, 40% of Irish women feel they don’t have sex regularly enough and most of us would like to have sex, or some kind of sexual activity, daily. Here are some of the other findings from the study:
- 4% of us have sex daily, 32% have sex three times a week and 34% have sex once a week.
- 6% of us have slept with more than 20 people.
- 60% of Irish women have had a one-night stand. Of that number, a third said they did not want to repeat the experience but 8% have had more than 20 one-night stands.
- Despite the large number of us who have had one-night stands, 44% believe we should make a man wait a couple of months before sleeping with him.
- 44% of us lost our virginity between the ages of 15-18, 22% were 18-21 and 18% were 21-25 years old.
PEOPLE HAVE SEX BECAUSE THEY WANT TO: SHOCK FINDING!
After a five-year study, the University of Texas has complied a list of 237 reasons why people have sex. According to the research, men and women generally have sex for the same reasons and the old gender stereotyping that men want physical pleasure and that women crave love doesn’t tally with the researchers’ findings. The study did note that while the gender differences are not as great as previously assumed, men were more opportunistic towards sex and women were more likely to have sex because they felt they needed to please their partner. While expressing love and affection made it into the top ten reasons for both sexes, the outright number one reason for both men and women was because they were attracted to the other person. Golly! Who would have thought that?
TOYS
What do you buy for the woman who has everything? How about the gPod? This little beauty was unveiled at Adult Treasure Expo 2007 and the Japanese-designed vibrator is the latest in cutting-edge pleasure technology – a phallic-shaped vibrator that responds automatically to sounds picked up by its handset. The gPod can be plugged into anything – a telephone, an MP3 player or even a television, allowing you to get off to your favourite show, songs or your boyfriend’s voice. Nifty!

NATURAL APHRODISIACS
Some men – and a good few women – are not averse to taking Viagra to give their sex lives a little extra spice, even though they don’t really need it. Personally I’ve always been wary of buying prescription drugs over the net, as this can be very dangerous. Here’s what sounds like it might be a smart alternative. Holland and Barrett have a range of natural products created to enhance your libido. These include Horny Goat Weed (available in male and female varieties) which is believed to naturally improve libido; Damiana Leaves, which were originally used by the indigenous cultures of Central America to improve libido and stimulate oxygen flow to the genitals to improve potency; and Muira Puama, known as ‘potency wood’, which was used by Brazil’s indigenous tribes as an aphrodisiac, to treat erectile dysfunction and to help maintain an erection. I’m going to give them a try, so a full report will be coming soon. So if you catch me looking at you lasciviously on the bus – apologies in advance!
This Issue’s Top Sex Tip: Blowjob Basics
In the last issue, I gave guys the top ten tips for pleasing women. Well ladies, now it’s your turn. These are the top tips for giving a blowjob as submitted by real men to iVillage.
The right angle:
Try a slight swivelling motion with your head during oral. Just a slight turn of the neck is all that’s needed.
Tingle bells:
If you find the taste hard to stomach, gargle some menthol mouthwash before going down. It’ll give an explosive tingling sensation to him, while making his privates taste more palatable for you.
Play ball:
The scrotum tightens and constricts when men are aroused, making it extra-sensitive. A very gentle pull of the bottom of the scrotum will increase the intensity of his orgasm. (Sexton’s note – be very careful with this one. Lots of guys don’t like it at all!)
Don’t be shy of 69:
If you’re a 69 novice, start with the woman-on-top position; your partner will have both hands free to give you further stimulation.
Swallow!
Strawberries, pineapple, watermelon and whole foods can improve the taste of your partner’s emissions. Beer, red meat, curries and coffee produce the opposite effect.
Start softly:
Take him in your mouth when he’s still soft. The feeling of stiffening in the woman’s mouth is a great turn-on for both partners.
Let him dominate:
Sit your man on the side of the bed or in a chair when giving oral, or do it while your man is standing up. It’s a great view for the man and the feeling of dominance is very powerful.
Don’t rush him:
Afterwards, don’t immediately stop. For some men, the head of the penis is very sensitive after ejaculation, so continue even after he has reached his orgasm. Try not to make any disgusting faces. Show him how much you enjoyed the encounter with a wicked smile.
End it with a kiss:
Kiss him after oral sex when you still have his come in your mouth. (Sexton’s note – Hey? WTF? I’ve never heard this before and suspect the guys who submitted this one are jokers. Don’t spring this on him – find a way of getting his approval, even if it’s just leaning in and pulling away so that the option is his. I’ve found that most guys are even less fond of their cum than women are. Strange but true…)
