It's obvious from their 'Living For The Lockdown' video that serious cabin fever has set in!
Fresh from signing to Prosthetic Records, the Californian label that's also home to such uneasy listening favourites as Reaping Asmodeia, .gif from god, Depths Of Hatred and the mighty Neckbeard Deathcamp, Irish thrashers Gama Bomb have released standalone single 'Living In Lockdown'. The zero budget Zoom video is really something to behold!
Beneath the scabrous exterior they're nice guys who are donating all the proceeds to Dublin Simon Community.
“This pandemic has affected all of us in different ways, but people who were already vulnerable have been hit hardest," reflects lead death grunter Philly Byrne. "Dublin is the home of Gama Bomb, and sadly the place in Ireland where the virus is most concentrated right now. Dublin Simon Community work with people who are homeless, sleeping rough or have health problems – they’re out on the streets, finding safe places for homeless people to go during this crisis."
Unable to indulge in their usual shabby behaviour outdoors, Philly & Co. have been beavering away on the follow-up to 2018's Speed Between The Lines album.
“Lockdown has been great for productivity, so we’ve written two albums’ worth of material," Philly resumes. "We just need to choose the best stuff now. We’re thinking it might even be a concept album. There’s a strong Judas Priest and Suicidal Tendencies vibe to the new songs – it’ll really suit the post-apocalyptic vibe of 2021, that’s for sure.”
