1977
(17/100 The People's Choice)
Una Mullally, hotpress.com:
"1977 is an album that defined a summer. Everybody in their 20s remembers ‘that Ash summer’ when ‘Oh Yeah’ was the soundtrack of first-time sex, ‘Goldfinger’ was the soundtrack of getting pissed, ‘Innocent Smile’ was the requiem for Kurt Cobain, ‘Kung Fu’ was the stupid moshing one and ‘Lose Control’ was about getting wasted. Ash were hot, young, and just like the kids who bought the record. The ‘hidden track’ was them puking in the studio and it defines the album; irresponsible, messy, fast and fucked-up goodness. I salute them".
