The gongs will be dished out on February 24 at the Point Theatre. Hosting duties on the night will be taken care of by stand-up comedian Ed Byrne, who will present the show for the second time.

Five categories are up for public vote: Best Irish DJ, Best Irish Band, Best Irish Male, Best Irish Female and Best Irish Pop. Nominees include Alison Curtis, Tom Dunne, Snow Patrol, The Frames, Damien Rice, Mundy, Cathy Davey, Bronagh Gallagher, Brian McFadden and The Corrs. Additional awards include Best Irish Album, Best International Male, Best International Female, Best International Album and The Humanitarian Award, which is tipped to go to Adi Roche for her work with the Chernobyl Children's Project.

Meteor Ireland Music Awards tickets priced €30 (including booking fee) will go on sale from Ticketmaster and the usual outlets nationwide in the next few weeks.
