The Good Witch will drop June 16th and is now available to pre-order.
After one year of conjuring and crafting, Maisie Peters’ brand new album The Good Witch is almost here. Arriving via Gingerbread Man Records/Asylum on June 16th, the record is now available to preorder.
Following the success of its lead single, ‘Body Better’, Peters’ studio album is the singer’s sophomore album after her No. 2 BRIT Breakthrough certified debut, You Signed Up For This. Written during the whirlwind of her 2022 tour schedule The Good Witch acts as a time capsule for Maisie, allowing her to chronicle a time in her life that has been a balancing act between career highs and personal lows. While her debut was a time capsule in the moment of coming of age, The Good Witch serves as an introspective and self-reflective set of tracks, inspired by the works of Joan Didion, J. M. Barrie, Greek mythology and Western movies, and delves into the intricacies of romantic breakups, the preciousness of friendship and true value of self-worth.
Coming through in this new album with a newfound confidence, and as a sharper storyteller with a greater artistic ambition, The Good Witch was created across London, Suffolk, Stockholm, Bergen and LA, alongside Oscar Görres, Two Inch Punch, Matias Tellez, Brad Ellis, Joe Rubel and Elvira Anderfjärd.

Maisie explains: “This is my heart and soul, my blood on the page, the collection of stories that I’ve managed to capture in the past year. A true chronicle of my life in recent history, it is my own twisted version of a breakup album and it all draws upon the same couple of months’ worth of experiences and inspirations. It ducks and weaves between the real and surreal, and centres my own universe, of which I am of course the keeper of the keys and the holder of the cards - the good witch, if you will. It goes from light to dark in the flip of a switch and I hope takes you on a journey whereby the end you feel like you’ve gotten lost in someone else’s planet for a bit.”

Maisie is now gearing up to perform her biggest show to date, with over 20,000 tickets sold across the UK and Europe this spring which includes Eventim Apollo on 27th April (which sold out in just an hour), and a headline slot at Liverpool’s Sound City on 30th April. She is also set to perform at a sold-out homecoming show at Brighton Dome as part of The Great Escape Festival on 12th May, where – alongside Arlo Parks - she’s confirmed as one of the two 2023 Spotlight Shows.
