U2's The Virtual Road series continues this Friday, March 26, with a performance from Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, United States, recorded on June 5, 1983. Ahead of the virtual gig – set to premiere at 3am Irish time on Friday morning, and open with a pre-show from Fontaines D.C. at 2.40am – U2 have released a video of their performance of 'Gloria' from the iconic show.
U2: The Virtual Road, which kicked off on St. Patrick's Day with a 2001 performance from Slane, is a series of four concerts, broadcast for the first time exclusively on the band's YouTube channel, with enhanced visuals and remastered audio. The streams will be available for 48 hours only.
On March 26 – or March 25 depending on your time zone! – fans can tune in to see U2: Live At Red Rocks, recorded during the band’s War Tour. A career defining show, the rain-soaked performance at the iconic venue helped establish U2’s reputation as one of the greatest live acts in the world. Another Grammy-nominated Dublin band, Fontaines D.C., will open the show with a performance recorded in their hometown last year.
As part of the series, you can also look forward to streams of Popmart: Live From Mexico City 1997 with special guest Carla Morrison (April 1) and iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE: Live in Paris 2015 with special guest Feu! Chatterton (April 10).
